Will Ferrell was involved in a two-car crash in Southern California on Thursday night.
The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Interstate 5 in Orange County according to California Highway Patrol. Ferrell was riding in a 2017 Lincoln when the vehicle was struck by a 2007 Toyota. All four people in the Lincoln were taken to the hospital.
Manager for the 50-year-old comedian told Deadline that the driver of the Toyota allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. Farrell was taken to Mission Hospital following the incident and as since been released, according to his manager.
Earlier that night, Ferrell joined Billy Eichner onstage for an event at Oceanside High School Performing Arts Center. The event was part of Funny Or Die and Eichner’s Glam Up the Midterms series. Ferrel reprised his Anchorman character, Ron Burgundy at the event.
A fan tweeted to Eichner on Friday and asked if he was involved in the accident. Eichner tweeted back saying “Yes I’m ok. I wasn’t in the car. Will and everyone are ok.”
Yes I'm ok. I wasn't in the car. Will and everyone are ok. Very scary but very thankful everyone is ok. ❤️ https://t.co/6bxeHXY9Ts
