We recently had the pleasure of touring “Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum” located in the Venetian Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.. We were completely mesmerized by the amazing life like quality of the wax sculptures. The statues are remarkably realistic and we found it amazing how the artists were able to replicate each person’s facial features almost perfectly! We especially like the way the audience was allowed to interact with the statues. From curling up on the bed with “Hugh Hefner” to Standing in the Winners Circle with “Dale Earnhardt”. Other celebrities include Bette Midler, Beyonce, Billy Idol , Siegfried and Roy, Brad Pitt , Madonna , Shaquille O’Neil, and Britney Spears.

Each sculpture takes about six months to a year to create! They use the utmost precision and create the celebrity being represented. They even go as far as using actual dental copies of the celebrities and they even hand paint each of the eyes of the celebrities to match their color!

Because this is one of the only seven locations in the world, you must stop in during your visit to Las Vegas!

We recently had the pleasure of reviewing a performance of “Cirque du Soleil – Mystere”, a fantastic show performed by “Cirque du Soleil”. The show is in the “Treasure Island resort and casino”.

Wow! The athleticism and grace of the performers in this show are truly amazing! They make what they do look so easy. Yet, at the same time, one realizes while watching this breathtaking beauty that it takes years and years of practice and devotion to achieve the level that these athletes have.

This show is suspenseful, mesmerizing, funny and at times, even a bit frightening! It’s like time traveling back to a child like state where anything is possible and your senses are all activated. The clown, seen before the show and in the moments he popped up during the show, was funny and also surprising. One never knew when to expect him. The baby character was strange, but still provided a good number of laughs. The way some of the action happened above the audience or in different parts of the walkways was very clever. The music was sensual, provocative, and beautiful. Honored eight times as “Best Production Show” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “Mystère” has an international cast of 72 performers featuring dancers, singers, musicians and many fantastic acrobats.

It was a feast for the eyes and ears. We recommend that anyone interested in art, dance, acrobatics or just a great show check out “Cirque du Soleil – Mystere”.

Gregory Popovich is a true professional “dog whisperer”. He gets dogs (and cats too) to perform tricks that seem nearly impossible. Not only are the animals all different breeds and ages, they come from all different backgrounds as well. Gregory adopts all of his animals from local shelters. He says he can tell right away upon first meeting an animal if it is going to be one that he can work with and train to use in his show. He doesn’t have a certain formula for choosing the animals, nor does he prefer any certain breed. He says he looks at the personality of the animal and he keeps an open mind when choosing an animal. Popovich incorporates the personality of the animal into the types of tricks it performs. He bases the tricks on the animals best qualities, such as climbing without fear or hesitation, jumping high, balancing, or even just sitting and looking adorable. Gregory then creates a routine based around the animals strengths.

The tricks have the dogs in a school classroom, on a train, and many other fun and entertaining sets. And don’t forget about the felines! There are cats balancing on balls, jumping through hoops, and performing high wire tricks like an Olympic gymnast! There is even a cat pushing a dog in a baby carriage. From a dog giving a cat a piggy back ride, to animals riding in a train, it is amazing to see the skill and dedication that Gregory has put into training these amazing animals.

When they aren’t performing, these lucky animals live a wonderful life. Gregory purchased a home separate from his own just for the animals to live in. They have caretakers and they live a happy life full of playing, eating, sleeping swimming and just enjoying each others company.

Gregory Popovich grew up in a family of circus performers and has incorporated that into his show. Gregory has won juggling awards and is in “The Guinness Book of World Records”. His beautiful daughter performs in the show and is amazing too! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mr. Popovich after the show and I found him to be kind, charming, and very polite. He told me that all it takes to teach an animal tricks is patience.

This show is not only entertaining and fun, it really makes you appreciate all the dedication and patience that Mr. Popovich and his family have for their love of these animals. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing this show for animal lovers of all ages!

“Nathan Burton, comedy magic” is located inside the “Flamingo hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The afternoon show is intriguing, fun and magical. This show appeals to people of all ages. Although a few of the tricks may be a bit difficult for very young children to understand, they will enjoy themselves none the less and the adults will be very entertained as well.

There are beautiful dancers in “showgirl” costumes, his show offers illusions, street type magic, comedy, and downright fun! Nathan interacts with the audience in a charming way and it is very obvious to all that he really enjoys what he does.

Nathan has appeared on the hit show “America’s Got Talent” on NBC, and he performed his “microwave” trick that I had seen him do on that show. It was great!

During the show Nathan tells how he started out performing some “magic” tricks in kindergarten. He says none of the tricks worked out the way they were supposed to, but it didn’t matter, he has been hooked on magic ever since.

I think this show is a wonderful, relaxing break from the hot, packed tourist attractions Vegas has to offer and it gives you something fun to do in the late afternoon.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nathan and talking with him, his sister, and their mother. I found them all very charming and hospitable. They all told stories of Nathans first attempts at magic and some of the mishaps.

All in all, anyone looking for a lighthearted and fun magic show, should go see Nathan Burton!

Steve Wyrick is a story teller through and through. His show located in “Planet Hollywood” is like spending time with a great author. He weaves the audience through his life, telling stories of his childhood. From going fishing, where he brings a young child up on stage and takes him “fishing” to Steve’s love of airplanes from a very early age, and ending with a heartfelt story about his Grandmother.

There are tricks that he includes audience members in and many mind boggling illusions that leave one dumbfounded and trying to figure out “how did he do that?”. To me, that is the art of a great magician!

The time goes by very quickly in this fast paced show and leaves the audience wanting to see more. I would guess that at least 80% of the audience stood in line afterward to meet Steve and have their photo taken with him. He is charming, witty, and a downright nice guy.

I would recommend the Steve Wyrick show to anyone that wants to see illusions, magic, and hear some great stories! It was an awesome show!
